Exacting specifications are rarely more important than those required in medical devices and implants. The high tech engineering of modern medical devices calls for specific tolerance ranges of many surfaces; tolerances that can be measured by the µQC. Failure to achieve required tolerances will often lead to rejection of the device, which is simply not an option. It is not good for the health of the patient or the economic stability of the manufacturer.
